Subject: Participation in combined Indian Textile Exhibition, co-located at Saigoan Fabric & Garment Industry Expo (SAIGOAN TEX) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 9-12 , April, 2015
We hereby inform that SRTEPC has been designated as the Lead Council to organize participation of 40 Indian companies in the above mentioned exhibition under MAI scheme. Vietnam is a highly potential and growing market for textiles, especially for yarn and Fabrics. Its total exports of garments and textiles in 2013 was US$ 19.95 billion and its import in the same year of fabrics, textiles and accessories and fibre was US$ 8.40 bn, US$ 3.73 bn and USD 1.52 bn respectively. Indias current share here is very small, hence there is huge scope to further expand our textile trade, especially in the wake of the enhanced economic and strategic engagement between India and Vietnam.
Honourable Prime Ministers of Vietnam and India had met recently and the Indian Prime Minister has offered a line of Credit of US$ 300 million for strengthening the Textile trade between the two countries. The ministry has directed the participation of all EPCs along with their members
