Sub: Pending Duty Drawback claims at Chennai Airport Customs-reg.

Sir/Madam,

We have been informed by FIEO that around 21417 Shipping Bills queries amounting to Rs. 153 crores are pending at Chennai Airport Customs only due to queries raised and reply not received. The data is as old as 2005.A�Members are requested to take initiative to view A�the status of your pending DBK shipping bills and answer toA�make sure that the queries raised are answered.A� The pending status has been reflecting in the Customs Database for a long time, therefore kindly provide suitable reply and provide us the shipping bill details for follow up.

Another issue of long list of A�pending duty drawbackA�has been noticed A�due to EGM errors.A�While the responsibility of clearing EGM errors lies on Airlines to file correct EGM manually, the ultimate loss is to the exporter.A�Hence, kindly pursue A�with your CHA / Airlines to clear all pending cases and also instruct your CHA to check in the system.A�A�The Department has also taken up this issue with CHAs / Airlines for their active participation in clearing pending duty drawback claims. A�A�Department also informed that in case pending shipping bills are not cleared A�within reasonable time, the department will take steps to remove the data from the system.A� Please login to:A� https://www.aircustomschennai.gov.in/drawback.html for finding out whether any of your shipping bills are pending / query raised / EGM error etc.
