Sub: Reasons for decline in handloom export and suggestions to boost export-reg.

Sir/Madam,

We would like to inform Member Exporters that as per DGCI&S, Kolkata figures, export of Handloom products was Rs.1565 crore during April-November 2013 vis–vis Rs.1423 crore registered during April-November 2014 recording decline of (9.01%) during the said period (detailed statement enclosed for ready reference).

In this regard, we request Members to kindly provide reasons for the decline of handloom export witnessed during the period April-November 2014 and suggest measures to boost handloom export for onward submission to the Ministry.

Grateful if inputs are offered to the Council by February 27, 2015.
